Intercontinental Hotel New Orleans is a very lovely but worn down place. Needs a remodel with a refresh of the furniture and fixtures. Rooms are clean, spacious, and inviting, but worn down, with nicks all over the place in the furniture and loose fixtures in the room. The lobby area the same with nicks all over the furniture. But a pleasant stay nonetheless. Close by to lots of things, within walking distance to many things.

I recently stayed here while attending Jazz Fest, and overall, I had a good experience. The rooms were very spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pillows were quite firm, and although it took me a night or two to get used to them, I ended up really liking them. The hotel is conveniently located near some excellent restaurants, and getting to the Jazz Fest only took about 10–15 minutes, which was a major plus.
The hotel features two restaurants and bars: Trenasse and Pete's were really nice spots to eat. Trenasse offered a delicious redfish dish with tasty sides at an affordable price, while Pete's, which felt more like a bar, served excellent burgers and a really good chicken sandwich. Pete’s also featured an all-you-can-eat breakfast at a fairly reasonable price, which was a great bonus.
On the downside, one morning while brushing my teeth, the cabinet door fell off and almost brokemy toe. It clearly wasn’t secured properly, which was concerning. Another big downside was the number of taxes and fees. I expected some charges, but the amount was surprising — parking fees, a destination fee, room state tax, occupation fee, tourism support tax, room city tax, and a state tax. These additional costs weren’t clearly explained upfront, which led to a significant difference between the initial booking price and the final bill — what seemed like a $1,200 stay ended up closer to $1,600.
While there were some disappointments, I would still say it was a good stay — not excellent, but good. I would recommend it, but with a heads-up about the additional fees.

We stayed for 9 nights and had breakfast included. The staff were brilliant and really made us feel welcome. The gentleman that made fresh omelettes each day) he was mostly there on our stay April16-25th) was fantastic, he was a joy to see each day. Warm personality and gave us many a tip to help. The staff made our trip. The hotel itself was great, it just needs a little refurb.

I was here for my birthday weekend and was treated like a queen. I was given complimentary drink vouchers at Pete’s upon my arrival and was surprised with a bottle of wine and a fruit tray along with some additional snacks. The only part I would’ve wanted to change/improve is the mattress. It was too firm for my taste. Also, the balcony area could’ve used some dusting. Otherwise, the accommodations were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will most definitely be back!

This hotel is always my first choice when traveling to NOLA. Had a small problem with the room but it was addressed by the staff immediately! Everyone here goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The location is perfect for accessing the French Quarter. The only downside is while the rooms are comfortable , they need to be updated.

Great group of people working this hotel. They take pride in what they do and work hard to make sure you leave happy. While i did enjoy my stay, they place is getting dated. However, it’s taken care of well.

We have been searching for the “right location” to stay when visiting our son at Tulane University. This was our first stay at this location and I hoped the area and Streetcar service would be what we were looking for and this location checked every box. The location is close to great restaurants and shopping which was ideal for our afternoons while our son was in class. The river is just a short and provided a great location for our morning walks. The streetcar pickup location is currently several blocks away due to construction but still very convenient to travel to Tulane and enjoy the Garden District. We had breakfast everyday in Pete’s and ordered from the menu some and tried the buffet, the food was so well done and plentiful. The fresh fruit on the buffet was an impressive assortment. I would recommend this location for any visit to NOLA!
